It’s been a few weeks now since I got back from the Opera summer studio of InCanto music management in collaboration with Theater Lüneburg. Such an exhilarating experience! I got to work with really inspiring coaches and a group of talented and motivated young professionals- singers and conductors. Deliciously full days of rehearsal and coaching sessions culminated in a gala concert that kicked off the start of the season at the Lüneburg’s theater. There’s nothing like being on stage portraying and transforming for a little while into iconic characters like Queen of the Night, Violetta and Gilda. So distinctly different from one another- each of them draws you in completely.
Of course you can’t have the full experience without a bit of suspense- Half way through the project, in one day, temperature dropped 10 degrees c, and I got sick with the flu. The Lüneburg weather can change drastically. So here’s a tip for you boys and girls planning to work there, prepare for any weather no matter what the forecast is. You’re welcome 🙂 Funny thing about being a singer: There are those moments when everything hurts but you are ecstatically happy because your throat is fine. Luckily with the help of my good friend ADRENALINE the concert went brilliantly. All high F were there- you other Queens of the night know what I’m talking about 😉
I could not have done it without the inspiring work of the people around me. The level of dedication and commitment from everyone on stage and backstage was so contagious, that actually looking back, there was no other option but to sing your heart out. The professors and coaches were so generous, that in 10 days our cast turned into a family.
Here is a short item about the summer studio from the local news:
